Nathan nelson

Nathan Nelson serves as the Corporate and Compliance Attorney for TopDog Law, where he ensures the company maintains regulatory and ethical compliance with state and federal laws, including compliance programs that align with state bar requirements and industry standards. His responsibilities include advising the company on internal policy development, corporate governance, risk management, employment matters, contract negotiations, and other internal legal oversight matters.

Prior to joining TopDog Law, Nathan was an Associate in Goodwin Procter LLP’s Technology and Life Sciences group and a member of its Climate Technology practice. While at Goodwin, he represented investors, startups, and emerging growth companies across a wide range of industries. Nathan has experience in venture capital financings, entity formations, corporate governance, equity issuances, pre-investment due diligence, mergers and acquisitions, and other strategic transactions involving domestic and international companies.

Nathan earned his law degree magna cum laude from the University of California, College of the Law, San Francisco (formerly, UC Hastings College of the Law), and completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Vermont. While attending UC Law SF, he served on the editorial board of the Hastings Business Law Journal and competed on the moot court team, placing as a national semi-finalist in The Herbert Wechsler Criminal Moot Court Competition.
