Born in Erie, Pennsylvania, Brandy Helms is a trial attorney who was raised with a love of fishing, hunting, cooking and farming. She holds a B.A. in Psychology and Health Science from Misericordia University and a Master’s degree in Forensic Psychology from Roger Williams University in Bristol, RI. She then attended law school at John Marshall Law School – Savannah, where she graduated valedictorian of her class.

Brandy started her career assisting Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 Trustees for the United States Bankruptcy Courts in Wilmington, NC and later Savannah, GA. She currently sits as a Chapter 7 Panel Trustee for the United States Bankruptcy Court’s Southern District of Georgia. In addition to her bankruptcy work, Brandy has spent the past 5 years fighting for personal injury clients in Georgia, and is an active member of the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association.

In addition to her legal practice, Brandy enjoys traveling with her daughter, who was diagnosed with Rett Syndrome in 2020. Brandy fervently advocates for Rett Syndrome Awareness and is an avid supporter of special needs families and their communities, working for families access resources and treatment options to improve the quality of life for both the patient and their close supporters.
